About Department:

The Department of Economics was established in 2018-19, focusing on to develop decision making by studying how to weigh options and make wiser decisions. The department also concentrates on developing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. In our effort to create a thriving intellectual environment we teach our students the practical application of the various theoretical policies.

Aim

To develop practical application of the Economics Subject.

Objectives

1. To provide knowledge of fundamental economic ideas and the ways in which they relate to a variety of contemporary problems.
2. To make students proficient in the theoretical and practical techniques required to evaluate and do economic research.
3. to impart the ability to formulate practical policies that will advance social fairness and economic prosperity.
4. To familiarise the students with significant changes in the global economy and Indian Economy, both historically and in the present.

Applied components:

The Department of Economics offers “Entrepreneurial Development” as an applied Component. Entrepreneurship is the ‘Engine of economic development.’ This paper is revised keeping in view the dynamic nature of the education system, which would create global competence, skill development and motivation among the young learners to become a successful entrepreneur. The paper should be taught and learnt by using participatory methods of teaching – learning and including industrial and institutional visits for the project work of internal assessment.
