The Department of Sociology seeks to achieve leadership and excellence in its field of specialization locally and regionally, and to gain the trust and service of society in keeping with the developments of the times and to stimulate education from a global perspective. Striving to prepare a graduate capable of understanding basic concepts and social theories and applying the acquired knowledge and skills in various areas of practical life, in accordance with the requirements of the labour market and in accordance with scientific and societal developments.
Providing knowledge and sociological vision to students about the social relations between members of society, the societal environment and the social, economic, political and kinship systems that make up it and their impact on their culture, in addition to train them to conduct social research of different types and gaining them the ability to collect quantitative and qualitative data, analyze it and extract general result.
1. The graduate will acquire professional skills to be able to apply field research and conduct social surveys. 2. Participate in planning and evaluating social development projects and Preparing reports on field visits. 3. The Sociology Department is interested in developing students’ knowledge of the basic concepts in the social sciences and the theoretical trends that contributed to the establishment and development of sociology, 4. The subject content of Sociology is trying to link societal issues with the method of social work, and enables students to use scientific approaches and research methods in studying and analyzing social issues.
