Department of Geography and geography club organised a Guest lecture on the topic of "Urbanization, Environment and Pandemic" on 30th September 2021. Urbanisation refers to the movement of people from rural to urban areas enabling cities and towns to grow. Growth is inevitable and desirable, but the destruction of community character is not. The question is not whether your part of the world is going to change. The question is how. Dr Udhav Zarekar, Vice Principal and HOD- Environmental Studies of Jai hind college, was invited for this lecture to enlighten students on this very relevant and real-time issue. He delivered an immensely informative and engaging lecture, and all 67 attendees from all faculties benefited from his expertise.
