Career Counselling Session IDP Institute

A Career Counselling Session was organized by the BMS Club of N. L. Dalmia College of Arts, Commerce & Science in collaboration with IDP Institute on 07 July 2025 at 1:00 PM in Classroom 901. The session was conducted for TYBMS, TYBCOM, and TYBA students to provide guidance on career opportunities in India and abroad. It covered higher education options, career paths, and study abroad procedures including scholarships, exams, and documentation. The session was informative and helped students gain clarity about their future career choices.

Guest Lecture – “Breaking into the Media Industry”

A guest session was conducted by media industry expert *Ms. Alarna Mitcop*. The lecture helped TYBMS (Specialization – Marketing & Public Relations) students understand dual perspectives: career opportunities in the media sector and their direct relevance to the CO3 syllabus content on corporate communication and PR. The session enhanced students’ practical insights and employability readiness.

Futurepreneur Fair 2025-26
Friday 8th August 2025

The BMS Department organised the *Futurepreneur Fair 2025*, an entrepreneurial showcase open to all NLDC students. Students set up various stalls involving gifting items, food, and games. Their creativity and business acumen were highly appreciated. The event encouraged hands-on learning, teamwork, pricing strategy, customer interaction, and entrepreneurial confidence. Faculty and students from NLDIMSR, NLDHS and NLDC actively participated and supported the initiative.

ICSI – “Unlocking Opportunities with Company Secretary Career”
Thursday, 14th August 2025

A special guidance session was conducted by ICSI representatives, including professionals from Bhayandar Chapter. Students were oriented about the career path, scope, and opportunities in becoming a Company Secretary. The guest was felicitated with a momento. Bloom students from all years attended the session, gaining clarity on CS as a higher professional course.

Session on Data Visualization & Business Analytics

A session was conducted on the emerging field of data visualization and analytics by guest speaker *Ms. Sinshi Koley*. All BMS and Bloom students attended the session and received participation certificates. The session strengthened students’ understanding of analytical tools, graphical representation of data, and decision-making techniques.

Financial Literacy Programme: How to invest in Initial Public Offering (IPO) –
Saturday 08 November 2025

The BMS Department organised a financial literacy awareness programme featuring *Ms. Surbhi Gupta* from BOS. Students gained essential knowledge on savings, investments, budgeting, and financial planning. Participation certificates were given, and the event was coordinated by faculty in-charge *Ms. Srishti Mishra*.

Reel Making Workshop
24th November 2025

A creative workshop on video/reel making was conducted under the Green Club initiative. Students learnt the basics of scripting, shooting, editing, and social media content creation. The activity helped students express ideas creatively and understand the role of digital communication.

Student- Led Legal Awareness Session on POSH

The Women Development Cell (WDC), in collaboration with the BMS Club of N. L. Dalmia College, organized a student-led session on POSH on 29 November 2025. Conducted by LL.B. students from Amity Law School, the session raised awareness about workplace harassment, reporting mechanisms, and the importance of a safe and respectful environment.

Startup Splashdown

The BMS Department of NL Dalmia College organized Startup Splashdown on 5th December 2025 in the college auditorium. The event provided a platform for students to present innovative business ideas to an external jury. Participation was open to all, but compulsory for SY and TY BMS students, in teams of 3–7 members. Each team delivered a 5-minute pitch followed by a Q&A session. The event fostered creativity, teamwork, and practical business application, with students showcasing innovative ideas and receiving valuable feedback. Overall, it successfully enhanced entrepreneurial thinking, confidence, and presentation skills

HR Unplugged: Myths, Realities & Career Scope

The Department of Management Studies organized a seminar, “HR Unplugged: Myths, Realities, and Career Scope,” led by Dr. Caral D’Cunha to provide practical insights into the HR profession. The session covered HR roles, career opportunities, required skills, and industry trends, followed by an interactive Q&A. Students appreciated the practical exposure and improved understanding of HR careers, and recommended more such sessions.

Add-on course titled “Corporate Foundations & Employability Skills”

The BMS Club of N. L. Dalmia College proposed a 30-hour add-on course titled “Corporate Foundations & Employability Skills” to enhance students’ workplace readiness. The course covers communication, management concepts, interview skills, Google productivity tools, and personal finance. It combines theoretical learning with practical activities to build essential professional competencies. Evaluation includes participation and a test, with 75% attendance required for certification. Overall, the course aims to improve employability and prepare students for corporate careers.
